Over the years, many legends have had their farewell matches in WWE. Two-time Universal Champion Goldberg recently said he would like to have a final bout before retiring from in-ring action.

Goldberg has had two runs with WWE, establishing himself as one of the most dominant competitors in the company. He wrestled his last match for the promotion at Elimination Chamber 2022, losing to Roman Reigns in a title match. Since his contract with the global juggernaut expired, Da Man has not competed inside the squared circle.

During an appearance on Busted Open, the Hall of Famer discussed potentially having a final match. He was heavily interested in having one last bout before hanging up his wrestling boots.

"Man, I would love to do one more match, you know how it is. Vince [McMahon] and I spoke about it, and he gave me his word but all that stuff happened. Hey, man, I don't hold any grudges. Vince gave me so many opportunities, I'll forever be grateful. I would absolutely love to have that final match. Am I good not having it? Yeah, I'm fine with it, but it would be neat to have it," Goldberg said. (From 27:33 to 27:57)

The 57-year-old claimed that he didn't need to join a company for a potential final match, as he was willing to promote the bout himself.

"It wouldn't have to be with anyone [WWE or AEW]. I could do it myself and accomplish what I wanted to accomplish, right? I could do the promotion myself Overseas! Do it in Israel, India, or Japan, [or] maybe do one in the States. I don't know. I've thought about a lot of things," Goldberg added. (From 28:05 to 28:30)

WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg on Asuka surpassing his undefeated streak

Goldberg's undefeated streak was one of the highlights of his WCW career. Sadly, the iconic run ended, and the former WCW Champion moved on to different storylines before appearing on WWE TV.

Almost two decades later, Asuka created her own streak in NXT and eventually surpassed Goldberg's tally of 170-plus wins. The Empress made a new record before losing to Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans.

The WWE Hall of Famer wasn't too pleased with Asuka's streak. During an appearance on Tim Green's Nothing Left Unsaid podcast, Da Man seemingly downplayed the Damage CTRL member's unbeaten run.

Asuka is currently sidelined due to an injury. There is no confirmation on when the former Women's Champion will make her much-awaited return.
