On the latest episode of WWE Monday Night RAW, former NXT Champion Ilja Dragunov was involved in a match against Bron Breakker. The winner of the bout was set to challenge Sami Zayn for the Intercontinental Championship at SummerSlam.

The Mad Dragon hit Breakker with a chop after the bell rang and followed it up with a knee strike. He then booted the latter out of the ring and the two stars exchanged strikes on the apron. Bron Breakker dropped Ilja Dragunov on top of the ringpost.

Bron then hit Ilja with a knee to the midsection and got a two-count. The two stars exchanged chops and Dragunov nailed his opponent with a step-up enziguri. Bron Breakker tried to hit a spear but ran into a kick. Ilja Dragunov planted him with the Constantine Special and hit a chop in the corner.

The Mad Dragon dropped Bron Breakker with a Jackknife Powerbomb and hit the H-Bomb but couldn't capitalize. Bron rolled out to the apron so he wouldn't get covered. He caught Ilja Dragunov with a spear at ringside, and the latter landed on the floor. The WWE official called for the bell as Ilja couldn't continue. Bron Breakker was declared the winner.
