The John Cena 'Farewell Tour' kicked off with a massive announcement on the historic RAW debut on Netflix. The 16-time World Champion announced he would enter the Men's Royal Rumble match one final time, eyeing a 17th World title win. While a title victory is possible, WWE analyst Sam Roberts feels the legend would face a heel Seth Rollins in the next few months.
Rollins and Cena had one of the greatest rivalries in the industry's history back in 2014. Both men had some of the best matches in the industry, but many in the WWE Universe have seemingly forgotten.
During a recent edition of the NotSam Wrestling Podcast, Sam Roberts addressed Rollins' future and stated that the star might turn heel very soon for the first time since 2022. Not only that, but The Visionary might revisit his feud with Cena following a heel turn.
“When people talk about their favorite John Cena rivalries, they talk about Edge, they talk about Randy Orton, they talk about CM Punk... Sometimes, they'll bring up AJ Styles. You know who's one of John Cena's greatest dance partners ever, ever, ever? Seth 'Freakin' Rollins. The John Cena-Seth Rollins matches—I mean, they turned Jon Stewart into a heel; they were so good. You’ve got to go back and watch some of these things. I mean, Cena and Rollins are magic together. And there is a version of this—maybe Rollins is gonna be a villain. Maybe that's the only place to go,” stated Sam Roberts. [17:40 onwards]
