Recent WWE developments have apparently caused a veteran to think CM Punk has a big move ahead of him. According to legendary wrestling journalist Bill Apter, the Second City Saint may be rescuing an official who wanted him fired.
Over the last few days, tensions between Wade Barrett and Drew McIntyre have risen considerably. This has led to speculation about Wade stepping out of retirement, having had his last match in 2016. As the situation stands, Punk may become an ally of the former Nexus leader as well, despite the latter calling for the Second City Saint to be fired previously.
While speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's UnSKripted podcast, Bill Apter shared his thoughts on the matter and stated:
"I think that Wade Barrett is going to, before Bad Blood... Somewhere in the next week or two, it's gotta happen fast that he and McIntyre, he's gonna stop McIntyre again from doing something to Punk. And it's gonna wind up with him getting slugged or something, and it's gonna create, I don't know if it will be a match between two of them, because maybe on TV the following Monday before Bad Blood, maybe the two of them against each other and then CM Punk comes to Wade Barrett's rescue."
