Former WWE manager Dutch Mantell recently spoke about Drew McIntyre showing up on SmackDown after the star quit on RAW. The Scottish Warrior went all out to get retribution from CM Punk for costing him the World Heavyweight Championship at Clash at the Castle.
Last week on RAW, McIntyre announced that he was done with WWE and was quitting the show. Despite repeated requests from Adam Pearce and Triple H, Drew seemingly left the show for good. However, he showed up this week on the blue brand and assaulted Punk in front of his hometown fans in Chicago.
On the latest episode of Sportskeeda Wrestling's Smack Talk, Mantell claimed it was great booking by WWE to have McIntyre show up. He felt people did not expect the Scottish Warrior to be back so soon. The veteran stated that the storyline excited him and it was hard to predict what would happen next.
"Very good. So I'm following the story. He quit and of course, CM Punk brought that up. I think they were expecting him but not at that time. So when that door opened, and all of a sudden it's Drew McIntyre standing there. A guy is laying down there, for a minute, I didn't think it would be CM Punk. I thought it might be something else. It was him. So, they had my brain running and racing." [From 11:24 onwards]
With this attack, Drew McIntyre proved that he can also play mind games and dish it out to Punk. It remains to be seen what the future holds for this feud.
