Roman Reigns has been absent from WWE programming since losing to Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania XL. Some people, including a former WWE personality, felt that Reigns' return could be imminent and pitched a potential return storyline for The Tribal Chief. That would be Freddie Prinze Jr.

Reigns has not been seen in the Stamford-based promotion since Cody Rhodes took his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania XL in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. With SummerSlam just over a month away, some people are speculating about Roman's return to straighten out The Bloodline's current situation.

While speaking on his Wrestling with Freddie podcast, Freddie Prinze Jr. said that Reigns will have to confront Solo Sikoa one way or another. Prinze Jr. mentioned it was like an "old mob boss" returning from prison and asking the one who replaced him about what happened with his "family."

"When Roman does come back, it's like the old mob boss coming back, like getting out of jail and going, 'What the f**k did you do to the family? What kind of business are we doing here? You broke all these rules?' And then the young mob boss is like, 'Hey, man. This is the way that things go, and I'm the one that kept us afloat.' And then they get this great mob war, this turf war, which I think is where they're going. That'll be a great storyline," Freddie Prinze Jr. said.

Solo Sikoa proclaimed last Friday on SmackDown that Roman Reigns won't be coming back. It was certainly planting the seeds of a potential return although Jacob Fatu's addition made things even more complicated.

WWE Superstar Roman Reigns' father Sika Anoa'i passed away

The father of Roman Reigns and one-half of The Wild Samoans, Sika Anoa'i, passed away on June 25, 2024. He was 79 years of age. He was also the younger brother of Afa, and the uncle of Umaga, Yokozuna, Rikishi, and The Tonga Kid.

Here is what Roman Reigns shared on X/Twitter regarding his father's demise:

"My family and I thank everyone for the outpouring of support in the name of my father, Pola'ivao Leati Sika Anoa'i, who will forever be remembered as one half of The Wild Samoans tag team. My father had a profound impact on my entire family and we are forever grateful for the foundation he built for us. There’s no way to fill the void left by his passing but my sisters and I will do our best to represent him and his legacy. Rest in Power, Dad. We love you."

WWE paid tribute to Sika Anoa'i on their official social media accounts, as well as during the NXT broadcast. AEW also honored the late wrestling legend on their official social media handles.
