New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
Naomi and Sasha Banks walked out of WWE while they were the reigning Women's Tag Team Champions in 2022. Banks now performs as Mercedes Moné in AEW and is the reigning TBS Champion. Naomi returned to the company during the Women's Royal Rumble match earlier this year and will be facing Bayley this Friday night to determine who will battle the WWE Women's Champion at Bad Blood next month.
Naomi comments on walking out of WWE
Naomi recently opened up about walking out of the company two years ago and noted that it was a weight off of her shoulders to be back in the promotion.
In an interview with WWE Deutschland earlier this year, the veteran discussed her return to the company. She shared that there was a lot of negativity surrounding the walkout two years ago, and it was great to be back in the company.
"That too felt like a relief, you know what I mean? Just all the negativity surrounding the walkout and everything that Mercedes [Mone] and I've experienced. It just felt like a big weight off my shoulders to be back home. To be accepted back home, and just to have the opportunity to continue where I started and finish the story; my journey," Naomi said.
