Former WWE Superstar AJ Lee has commented on her future amid rumors that she could be returning to the company. She is married to CM Punk in real life, and Drew McIntyre has stolen a bracelet with her name on it during his rivalry with the Second City Saint.
AJ has not competed in a match since the March 30, 2015 edition of WWE RAW. In a recent interview with Screen Rant, the former champion was asked about her plans for the future. The 37-year-old noted that she has an original comic book and film projects soon with her production company.
"We have an original comic book coming out very soon, and we got a short film that is soon to hit the festival circuit and a horror movie that is next in list and ready to go, so we are really excited to show you what we have at Scrappy Heart Productions," she said. [H/T: Ringside News]
At the Money in the Bank post-show press conference, CM Punk also commented on the possibility of AJ Lee's return to WWE.
CM Punk has been involved in a personal rivalry with Drew McIntyre for months. The former AEW Champion showed up during McIntyre's Money in the Bank cash in this past Saturday night and prevented The Scottish Warrior from becoming World Heavyweight Champion.
McIntyre put his hands on RAW General Manager Adam Pearce after the premium live event and has been suspended indefinitely.
Current WWE champion claims she can't retire until she has a match against AJ Lee
NXT Women's Champion Roxanne Perez recently stated that she will not retire until she steps in the ring with AJ Lee.
Roxanne Perez defeated Lola Vice last night at NXT Heatwave to retain her title. Speaking on Ring the Belle, Perez discussed Lee possibly returning to WWE. She claimed she wouldn't step away from the ring until she had a match with the veteran.
"It's going, we're trying you know. Hopefully, one day, she'll come back and maybe we can all do something together. That would be, that would be like my dream. I can't retire until I have a match against AJ Lee. So you know, I can't be 80 years old wrestling either, so," Roxanne Perez said. [From 02:17 to 02:33]
