WWE star CM Punk showed up Money in the Bank this week. The Best in the World interfered in the World Heavyweight Championship match and foiled Drew McIntyre's chances at winning the title. SmackDown's Wade Barrett recently refused to comment on Punk's attack on McIntyre.
The Scottish Warrior won the Money in the Bank briefcase in a hard-fought ladder match on Saturday. He cashed in his contract during the World Heavyweight Championship match between Damian Priest and Seth Rollins, turning it into a Triple Threat bout. However, CM Punk showed up and attacked McIntyre with a steel chair.
Punk ultimately dropped McIntyre with the title, allowing Priest to hit the South of Heaven for the win.
During the post-show segment, Wade Barrett said he had nothing to add on the Punk-McIntyre subject. The former champion revealed that he was reprimanded and had to pay a fine for airing his grievances with Punk after Clash at the Castle: Scotland. Barrett used the opportunity to send out his best wishes to Drew McIntyre after the attack.
"Listen, you know my thoughts. I am gonna say no more on this entire subject. [Big] E, you gotta put in some leg work because I am staying silent. I have my reprimand, I have my fine. I'm done on this particular subject. My thoughts are with one person, that's Drew McIntyre. You guys are carrying this bit." [54:05 - 54:22]
Big E also shared his thoughts on CM Punk
During the post-show presentation, former WWE Champion Big E also spoke about CM Punk's actions. He called Punk an "agent of chaos" and claimed that the star didn't care if his actions didn't sit well with anybody.
"Look, once again, I can't say that too many of us are shocked. I've been friends with Punk for a long time. He's been good to me. But he's what I would refer to as an agent of chaos. He is someone who is very polarizing and he doesn't have any issue upsetting people and clearly, he's upset you many times," Big E said.
E claimed that The Second City Saint would only rest after he exacted revenge on Drew McIntyre. It will be interesting to see what lies ahead in this storied rivalry between Punk and McIntyre.
