Former WWE star's announcement about cancer prompts comment from Bill Apter (Exclusive)

A former WWE name recently provided an update regarding her battle with cancer. This in turn had legendary journalist Bill Apter talking about her real life persona, as well as commenting on her current state.

The name being talked about is Maria Kanellis. While she is currently a part of AEW, her work in WWE and TNA is what broght her to attention in the pro wrestling industry. She recently announced that she was cancer-free, leading to several veterans and fans sending her their congratulations and best wishes.

Speaking about her health on Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Time Machine hosted by Mac Davis, Bill Apter stated:

"I haven't worked with her but I know her. She is great. She is a real sweetheart, and I am so glad to hear that because everyone in the community who knows her, loves her. She is a great lady." [0:55 onwards]

Teddy Long also shared his thoughts about the ex-WWE star

According to Teddy Long, Maria Kanellis was a very easy person to work with and had a great attitude behind the scenes.

Speaking on the same episode of The Wrestling Time Machine, the WWE Hall of Famer stated:

"Just a real nice person, man. Real nice, you know, lady to work with. Always had great attitude and everything. Like I said, I didn't even know she had cancer. But sometimes, you know, when you have that people you know really kinda keep that personal. But just God bless her, she is cancer-free now man. Now, she can start living her life all over again."
