Cody Rhodes has cemented his status as one of WWE's top babyfaces since returning to the company in 2022. In a recent live stream, Ryback disclosed details about his former co-worker's generosity in real life.
Ryback wrestled for WWE between 2004 and 2016. The former Intercontinental Champion shared the ring with Rhodes dozens of times in tag team matches on the main roster. They also lived together early on in their careers.
On his Ryback TV show, Ryback recalled how the Undisputed WWE Champion once bought him an Xbox when he was injured:
"I was in my rehab in Tampa and they didn't know if I was gonna be able to come back. Cody actually went and bought me an Xbox that I actually still have upstairs. He went and bought me an Xbox, and he goes, 'Just so you have something to do.'" [0:10 – 0:27]

Ryback did not wrestle for almost 16 months after suffering a serious ankle injury while performing as Skip Sheffield in August 2010. He returned in December 2011 and later reinvented himself as the Ryback character.
How Ryback reacted to Cody Rhodes' gesture
During his injury absence, Ryback was more concerned about returning to full health than playing video games in his spare time.
Nevertheless, The Big Guy still appreciated that his friend wanted to do something nice for him:
"I told him, 'What are you trying to do? I don't have time for video games, man! I gotta try to come back.' It was just a good gesture because me and him used to live together and play video games. Not a lot, but we'd play Fight Night. We spent quite a bit of time together, but that was just him out of the kindness of his heart," Ryback continued. [0:29 – 0:49]
Cody Rhodes is currently feuding with The Bloodline on SmackDown. On June 21, the debuting Jacob Fatu put The American Nightmare through the announce desk with a top-rope splash.
