A former WWE Superstar potentially teased a return today on social media. The star in question has not competed in a match in over nine years for the Stamford-based promotion.

Layla has not wrestled since losing to Paige (now known as Saraya in AEW), at a live event on July 26, 2015. The veteran is a former Divas Champion and WWE Women's Champion. She took to social media today to post an interesting update. The 47-year-old shared a new profile picture and potentially teased that she could be on her way back to the ring.

She competed in the Diva Search in 2006 and went on to spend nine years with the promotion. She was a part of a popular tag team with Michell McCool known as LayCool during her time with the company. McCool returned to the company to compete in the Women's Royal Rumble Match 2023.

WWE star Natalya pitches interesting idea for Layla's return

Natalya recently suggested an interesting idea for Layla's potential return to the promotion.

In an interview on Ring The Belle earlier this year, Natalya suggested that the former champion and McCool both appear during the Women's Royal Rumble Match. She noted that she would love to see a LayCool reunion, and added that both stars had helped her during her career.

"I'd really really love to see Layla back in the Women's Royal Rumble. I think it would be so cool to have a LayCool reunion at Royal Rumble. I learned so much working with Michelle McCool and Layla, I would absolutely love to see LayCool reunion and both of them like, they really helped me grow a lot when I was first starting out in WWE," she said. The company has been signing several stars of the past to Legends contracts in recent months. Only time will tell if Layla ever gets the chance to return to the Stamford-based company sometime down the line.
