Former WWE Superstar fires surprising shots at Cody Rhodes

A former WWE Superstar recently fired shots at Cody Rhodes. The name in question is former Women's Tag Team Champion Aliyah.

The 29-year-old was released from her contract in September 2023 after being on the main roster for nearly two years. She spent a large portion of her time in WWE on NXT. Aliyah signed a developmental contract with the global juggernaut in 2015.

In a short teaser video of her appearance on Johnny Pro Show, Aliyah could be seen firing shots at Cody Rhodes for taking two nights to finish his story. She compared it to her defeating former WWE Women's Champion Natalya in a record 3.17 seconds. The post shared on Instagram also mentioned that the entire podcast will be out on Wednesday.

Cody Rhodes finished his story on Night Two of WrestleMania XL by defeating Roman Reigns to become the new Undisputed WWE Champion. The 39-year-old, however, did not have a smooth journey to the historic win. The title match was fought under The Bloodline rules after the challenger, and his partner Seth Rollins, lost to The Rock and The Tribal Chief on Night One, leading to the said stipulation.

Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes opens up about the use of blood in professional wrestling

WWE has reduced the use of blood on television significantly over the years. However, The American Nightmare has already been busted open twice this year. The first instance was on an episode of Monday Night RAW on The Road to WrestleMania, when The Rock decimated him backstage. Rhodes was also seen bleeding during his against AJ Styles at Clash at the Castle: Scotland.

While speaking on The Major Wrestling Figure Podcast, Cody Rhodes claimed that blood is a part of sports entertainment and professional wrestling.

"It’s very fun to see. Blood is part of sports entertainment, part of pro wrestling. It's in a weird way, I don’t mean to sound toxic at all, it’s nice to see it celebrated in the packaging and in this moment. And actually, I gave myself a nice pat on the back for recently going into WrestleMania, I was the first WWE shirt that got a little blood on it as well. They had done the skull with a little cut up top after Rock beat the hell out of me in the rain," he said.

Cody Rhodes is currently involved in a heated rivalry with The Bloodline. The WWE Champion is scheduled to team up with Randy Orton and Kevin Owens to take on the heel faction in a Six-Man Tag Team match at Money in the Bank.
