A former WWE Superstar was recently seen making an unexpected return while being away with an injury hiatus. While he still hasn’t fully recovered, his comeback marks a significant twist in an ongoing storyline. Before proceeding any further, note that this article contains spoilers from a taped episode.

According to Fightful, Matt Cardona returned to TNA Impact to the Verdun Auditorium in Montreal, Quebec, Canada for the July 21, 2024 episode’s taping. The former Zack Ryder had previously made a comeback but was forced to go on a break after he suffered a torn pectoral injury in April this year.

The former WWE Superstar made an appearance to stop the wedding of Steph de Lander and PCO from happening. Notably, Matt Cardona was aligned on-screen alongside de Lander before he went on his injury-enforced break.

So far, he has been making some appearances across promotions as the General Manager of GCW. But now, he is back to settle some business. Interestingly, another WWE Superstar recently returned to stop her on-screen love interest from switching sides.

Rhea Ripley makes shocking WWE comeback and almost catches Dom red-handed

Speaking of returns, Rhea Ripley made a spectacular return on the July 9, 2024, episode of Monday Night RAW following a three-month injury hiatus. The Eradicator entered the arena right after Dominik Mysterio defeated his dad, Rey Mysterio, one-on-one for the first time and was about to kiss Liv Morgan. But, seeing Mami, Dom stood shocked in the ring while Morgan ran away.

Rhea Ripley now eyes the WWE Women’s World Championship which she was forced to relinquish because of the injuries she suffered during the Liv Morgan Revenge Tour. Mami has sent the current champ a message and said that she will end her career after defeating her at SummerSlam.

Mami was seen forgiving Dom by the end of the July 15 episode of the red brand. However, several rumors suggest that she may abandon him and The Judgment Day. It would be interesting to see The Eradicator back in action and potentially take her title back to resume her championship reign.
