Former WWE Women's Champion gives an unfortunate update on her tag team partner

This week's episode of WWE SmackDown was dominated by the news that the Women's Tag Team Championships had been relinquished following an injury to Liv Morgan.

WWE didn't note how severe the injury was, but it was announced that new Champions would be crowned on the episode of RAW that follows Night of Champions next weekend.

As part of a backstage segment that followed the announcement, Bayley opened up about Dakota Kai recently suffering an injury of her own last week on SmackDown.

Iyo Sky and Bayley are two of the women who will be competing for the Women's Tag Team Championships alongside Shayna Baszler and Ronda Rousey, Chelsea Green and Sonya Deville as well as Raquel Rodriguez and a partner of her choice.

The injury explains why Kai isn't part of the match but Bayley didn't add any details regarding her injury or when she is expected to make her return to TV.

At present there appears to be some tension brewing between the three members of Damage CTRL, which could continue when Kai is able to make her return.
