Tony Khan has overseen AEW's creative direction since launching the promotion in 2019. In a recent interview, Mario Mancini revealed that former WWE wrestler Paul Roma had offered to help the AEW President with storyline decisions.
Roma appeared in WWE between 1984 and 1991. The 64-year-old also wrestled for WCW between 1993 and 1995, during which time he joined Ric Flair's Four Horsemen stable. He now runs the Paradise Alley Pro Wrestling (PAPW) company alongside Mancini.
In an interview with Cheap Heat Productions Podcast, Mancini said Roma sent Khan a message but never received a response from the AEW boss:
"Roma left him a voicemail. He left him a voicemail saying, 'Listen, I'd like to help you with your company and your storylines.' Roma's got great storylines, and he never got back to him. These guys should be back there doing storylines." [51:51 – 52:15]

Mario Mancini's advice for Tony Khan
Between 1984 and 1992, Mario Mancini wrestled many high-profile WWE names, including Bret Hart and Macho Man Randy Savage. He was also The Undertaker's first WWE opponent.
Mancini believed Tony Khan could use past feuds like Jimmy Snuka vs. Roddy Piper to draw inspiration for AEW storylines:
"The only way you're gonna build a company is with brand new talent, great promos, and great storylines. It's not that hard. It's as easy as, 'I wanna start a storyline with Piper and Snuka. What do you wanna do?' 'Well, have them do a Piper's Pit.' 'What do you wanna do during a Piper's Pit?' 'Well, he comes from an island. I dunno. Hit him in the head with a coconut?' That started holy hell!" [53:42 – 54:24]
Mancini also spoke about his plans to make an in-ring return at the age of 58.
