Gage Goldberg has made several on-screen WWE appearances alongside his father Bill Goldberg. In an exclusive interview, the 18-year-old gave his thoughts on whether he could become a wrestler one day.
On October 5, Gage Goldberg was at ringside to witness his dad's unexpected confrontation with World Heavyweight Champion Gunther at Bad Blood. Before that, the teenager's most notable WWE appearance came at SummerSlam 2021 when he received the Hurt Lock submission move from Bobby Lashley.
Gage Goldberg is focused on playing football for the time being. However, speaking to Sportskeeda Wrestling Senior Editor Bill Apter, he did not rule out wrestling further down the line:
"I mean, yes and no, for sure, because wrestling would be cool, being amped up and everything and having all the adrenaline, but then also I know my place right now is with football, so I'm gonna live this out and see where that takes me. If it doesn't work out, could be wrestling, don't know. It's a back-up plan," Gage Goldberg said. [3:17 – 3:39]

While he does not wrestle right now, Bill Goldberg's son knows people who hone their wrestling skills outside of the football season:
"I know a couple of people who have done that, but also wrestling is great for football, too, because of tackling and everything, taking blows." [3:52 – 4:03]

Gage Goldberg reveals where his name came from
Bill Apter recalled how he once asked Bill Goldberg to clarify whether his son's name was Cage or Gage.
Discussing the reason behind his unique name, Gage Goldberg said his mother came up with the car-inspired idea while sleeping:
"My mom had a dream one day, and so we have a bunch of animals in my house, too, so we name everything after car products and everything, so my mom was having a dream one night and she was driving stick and the car gauge [came to mind as a name]." [0:52 – 1:08]
Bill Goldberg recently announced he will compete in a retirement match in 2025. Gunther is widely expected to be his opponent following their recent exchange.
