Gage Goldberg has made sporadic WWE appearances over the last few years to support his father Bill Goldberg. In an exclusive interview, the 18-year-old disclosed details about a serious injury one of his opponents suffered during a football match.

Although he has not ruled out wrestling one day, Gage Goldberg is currently pursuing a career as a football player. He played football at Samuel V. Champion High School in Texas before joining the University of Colorado under the stewardship of NFL legend Deion Sanders, aka Coach Prime.

Sportskeeda Wrestling Senior Editor Bill Apter asked Gage Goldberg if he uses his father's WWE move, the spear, on the football pitch. The teenager surprisingly revealed he once broke someone's neck with a spear:

"Oh, yeah, in high school football, for sure," Gage said. "Up here at Colorado, not yet. I've got in the game a little bit but I haven't speared anyone yet, but in high school I definitely did. I broke someone's neck before." [4:12 – 4:25]

Gage Goldberg on his friends' knowledge of Bill Goldberg

In 2016, Bill Goldberg returned to WWE after a 12-year absence. The former WCW star defeated Brock Lesnar in 86 seconds at Survivor Series before winning the Universal Championship twice. He also joined the WWE Hall of Fame in 2018.

Gage Goldberg added that everyone at high school knew about his famous father's success in the wrestling business:

"I lived in Texas for five years, so I was with that group of people all throughout high school. They knew everything. They knew who my dad was, they know what I'm gonna be, and my presence kinda." [4:41 – 4:54]

Bill Goldberg recently announced he will retire from in-ring competition in 2025. World Heavyweight Champion Gunther is widely expected to be his final opponent.
