WWE recently introduced two new women's mid-card titles and while Chelsea Green has already won one, the inaugural Women's Intercontinental Champion is yet to be crowned. Vince Russo feels Dakota Kai winning the belt would still do her no good.
As with most new titles in pro wrestling, WWE organized tournaments to determine the new Women's United States and Intercontinental Champions respectively. Chelsea Green deservedly captured the women's US Title and has already gotten her reign off to an entertaining start. As for the IC Championship, Dakota Kai and Lyra Valkyria punched their tickets to the final on this week's episode by winning their respective semifinal matches.
Dakota and Lyra will wrestle in the tournament decider on the January 13 episode of RAW and there are many who back Kai to win her first major singles title on the main roster.
During the post-show review on Sportskeeda's Legion of RAW, Vince Russo reminded fans that he had predicted Dakota Kai would win the tournament a few weeks back, though he wasn't convinced it would help her get over with the crowd.
A top AEW star just called one of his colleagues 'spoiled' and 'narcissistic' HERE.
The former WWE head writer stuck to his opinions and had a brutally honest assessment of Dakota Kai potentially becoming the first Women's Intercontinental Champion, as you can view below:
"Didn't we say a couple of weeks back they are going to put this belt on Dakota Kai? So, is it going to be Velcro? Oh my god, if they think Miss Velcro is going to be over because she's got the Intercontinental Title, good luck with that, bro!" [From 1:00:05 onwards]
Dakota Kai and Lyra Valkyria will have the high-profile finals in a couple of weeks on Monday Night RAW and rest assured, one of them will walk out with their names etched in the history books.
