Former WWE Tag Team Champion Grayson Waller is known to remain in character throughout interviews. However, he spoke highly of Hall of Famer Edge (aka Adam Copeland), who was his first opponent on Friday Night SmackDown.
Last year, Waller received his main roster call-up under Triple H's leadership. However, the star was injured and spent months hosting his talk show "The Grayson Waller Effect" until he returned to in-ring competition. The rising star's first match on Friday Night SmackDown was in the main event of Madison Square Garden against Edge.
In an interview on The Wrestling Classic, the former WWE Tag Team Champion broke character a bit and spoke highly of the former 11-time World Champion. Moreover, he added that it was a cool moment, and other newcomers cannot have the same experience as Edge is no longer with the promotion.
"Yeah, dude. I mean, it's a super cool thing cause at the time we didn't know that Edge was going to be finishing his time with the WWE. But he's someone who did so much for the WWE, especially some of the newer guys coming up. They can't say they got to work with him, that's something that I kind of have to myself, which is a cool thing... That's a very cool thing," Waller said. [From 06:54 to 07:20]

Grayson Waller is working in the tag team division on WWE SmackDown
After last year's annual Draft, Grayson Waller found a new home on Friday Night SmackDown and worked as a singles competitor for a while. Later, he allied himself with Austin Theory and formed A-Town Down Under.
Regardless of their win-loss record on the brand, the two scored a big win at WrestleMania XL when they won the SmackDown Tag Team Championship. Later, they became the inaugural Tag Team Champions of the blue brand but lost the gold to #DIY in the coming months.
The two are still working in the tag team division. However, cracks have begun to form in A-Town Down Under. There are rumors that they will split up and one will turn on the other heading into WrestleMania 41. It'll be interesting to see which star turns babyface in the coming months.
