Grayson Waller has made his name in the WWE for his razor-sharp wit and his striking verbiage, often camouflaged with comic elements. Waller was confronted by a rival tag team tonight about his true motives and how he was using his fellow SmackDown Tag Team Champ, Austin Theory. Interestingly, the Aussie Superstar has now responded with a callout that seems to reverse the strategy of his rivals on them.
Tommasso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano were invited to the Grayson Waller Effect show last week on the blue brand. While it is usually Austin Theory and Grayson Waller who cause trouble and humiliate their guests, The DIY ended up causing a stir between A-Town Down Under instead.
Moreover, their theory that Waller was using his teammate was proved right when The Aussie used A-Town as a human shield. But now, a new tweet on X by Grayson Waller showcased him sowing seeds of mistrust among The DIY.
“The amount of idiots not realising from this post that I’m a great mate, and Tommaso isn’t has genuinely astounded me. 'bout to win the MITB briefcase for my boy Theory #Smackdown.”

The SmackDown Tag Team Champion also shared images of Tommaso Ciampa betraying Johnny Gargano on WWE NXT. Moreover, he also shared an image of himself standing in the exact spot where the betrayal occurred. While the Aussie could probably cause a stir between The DIY, he couldn’t fulfill the second objective mentioned in his tweet.
Grayson Waller loses out on the Money in the Bank opportunity
The June 21, 2024, episode of Friday Night SmackDown saw Waller compete against Kevin Owens and Andrade in an MITB qualifier match. The tag champ had a great start and was going toe to toe against The Prizefighter and El Idolo. Moreover, he displayed both wrestling skills and opportunism in the Triple Threat match in an attempt to qualify.
However, Andrade ended up neutralizing the Aussie in the end with The Message and pinned him to take the win. Waller had wished to win the Money in the Bank contract to stand on equal footing with his teammate, Austin Theory, who’s a former MITB winner. It would be interesting to see which direction A-Town Down Under takes as they continue holding the SmackDown Tag Team Titles.
