Gunther has broken his silence ahead of his highly anticipated return to WWE RAW tomorrow night. Tomorrow night's edition of the red brand will air live from Columbus, Ohio.

The leader of Imperium defended his Intercontinental Championship against Sami Zayn at WrestleMania XL. Zayn pulled off the incredible upset to end The Ring General's title reign at 666 days. Gunther has not appeared on WWE television since losing the title but will be returning to RAW tomorrow night.

Ahead of his return, Gunther took to Instagram to deliver a message and noted that The Ring General is on his way back to the red brand.

"The General of the Ring is back on Monday Night RAW!" he wrote.

Chad Gable helped prepare Sami Zayn for his match against Gunther at WrestleMania. Zayn returned the favor by giving Gable a title shot last Monday night in the main event of RAW. Gable came up short and turned heel after the match by attacking the Intercontinental Champion in front of his wife.

Sami Zayn on what separates Gunther from the rest in WWE

Ahead of his Intercontinental Championship match at WWE WrestleMania XL, Sami Zayn opened up about his rival and explained what separated Gunther from the rest of the roster.

In an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda Wrestling earlier this year, Zayn discussed the former champion's physicality in the ring. He noted that everyone hears the chops in the crowd but said that everything the RAW star does in the ring is painful.

"Okay, so the chops I think jump out at people because of that sound, that loud crack across the chest. People respond to that because anybody can understand a sound like that, they know what's that. They can make that association with what that feels like because everybody at some point has been slapped or something. People can really relate to that. Everything he does is pretty painful. The chops do stand out, but everything he does is really with a hundred percent intensity. You're talking about what kinda separates him and I think that's it," said Zayn. [From 05:23 onwards]

The 36-year-old's reign as Intercontinental Champion was the longest in company history. Only time will tell what is next for the former champion when he returns to WWE RAW tomorrow night.
