Gunther busted open at SummerSlam; Damian Priest excruciatingly takes out WWE World Heavyweight Champion

WWE Superstar Gunther was left busted open by Judgment Day member Damian Priest at the SummerSlam 2024 Premium Live Event in Cleveland, Ohio. The Ring General locked horns with The Archer of Infamy for the World Heavyweight Championship.

After breaking several records as the Intercontinental Champion, Gunther finally dropped the gold to Sami Zayn at WrestleMania XL. The Imperium leader then put on an incredible performance against Randy Orton to become the new King of the Ring.

Following this, The Ring General set his eyes on Damian Priest's World Heavyweight Championship. Both stars started the match strong and for the most part, it looked like a fairly competitive bout. However, The Archer of Infamy took something out of The Ring General's playbook as he started hitting the latter with some vicious chops, after which the Imperium leader's chest started bleeding.

A fan noticed this and took to X/Twitter to upload a photo of Gunther's busted open chest.

The last stages of the bout shocked the whole world as Damian Priest was betrayed by his Judgment Day teammate, Finn Balor. This helped Gunther pick up the win and become the new World Heavyweight Champion.

It will be interesting to see what the Stamford-based promotion has planned for The Ring General's title reign.
