The Road to WWE SummerSlam is winding down, but things are heating up ahead of Saturday's premium live event. Gunther and Damian Priest had a shocking moment in Cleveland today in the final buildup to Saturday's title match.
The 37th annual SummerSlam PLE is set to feature The Archer of Infamy defending the World Heavyweight Championship against The Ring General. Peter Rosenberg hosted the world premiere of Priest's new WWE 24 documentary earlier today at The Agora Theater in Cleveland. The screening featured a panel discussion with Priest, Dominik Mysterio, and Rhea Ripley.
In a big surprise for the WWE Universe, Gunther interrupted from the balcony and called the Judgment Day member out. He declared the World Heavyweight Championship to be street trash.
"When you step in the ring with me tomorrow at SummerSlam, you're gonna be the lesser man, and I will finally expose you for what you truly are - street trash. [laughs]," Gunther said.

Priest then fired back and used a few expletives to call the Imperium leader to the stage for a fight. The 19-year veteran promised to humble the Austrian grappler at SummerSlam.
"Why don't you bring your f*****g a*s down here? You can call me 'street trash'... that to me just means Puerto Rican bada**, and you... you sc*mbag, you're the definition of human trash. If you think you can teach somebody a lesson tomorrow, I'm gonna say it like this to you... you punk a*s b***h, I'm gonna whip your a*s in front of the world, humble your ass, and when it's done, you'll be the one left with nothing, wondering, 'What do I do now? Because I'm a damn loser.' SummerSlam is tomorrow, but we can get this party started today, brother," Damian Priest said.
Priest then mocked Gunther for walking away as fans cheered. Rosenberg called on the crowd to cheer for the defending title holder again as he raised the World Heavyweight Championship in the air to close the show.
Bonus scene from WWE 24: Damian Priest
Peacock is set to premiere WWE's next documentary, WWE 24: Damian Priest, which will air on the streaming platform sometime this month.
The company has released an extra scene from the documentary. As seen below, The Archer of Infamy's brother and childhood friend discuss how he became a bona fide metalhead.
The clip looks at how Priest incorporated elements of the genre into his lifestyle and ring gear, allowing him to make a grand entrance at NXT Halloween Havoc 2020.
Priest entered Halloween Havoc 2020 on his 67th day as NXT North American Champion. He dropped the title to Johnny Gargano in the 21-minute opener, which was a Devil's Playground Match chosen by the "Spin The Wheel, Make The Deal" gimmick.
