We're approaching a hectic period in WWE as it's that time of the year when the company pulls out all the stops. During a recent episode of Smack Talk, wrestling legend Dutch Mantell commented on the potential Goldberg vs. Gunther match and why he would like to see it happen.
Goldberg was in attendance at Bad Blood with his family and many did not expect him to end up having a confrontation with Gunther. The World Heavyweight Champion mocked Bill Goldberg and the moment seemed like WWE's way of planting the seeds for the possible clash. However, since then there hasn't been any movement from the booking front as The Ring General awaits his next World Title opponent before RAW heads to Netflix.
Considering how anything can happen in WWE, Goldberg returning to challenge Gunther is also not out of the realm of possibility and Dutch Mantell wondered who would emerge victorious in the match. Mantell found it hard to call the bout as he felt both the Hall of Famer and the reigning World Heavyweight Champion had valid reasons to go over.
Due to the unpredictable surrounding the outcome, Mantell said he would certainly buy a ticket to watch Gunther and Goldberg battle it out inside the ring:
Fans drowned out a popular wrestler with 'She's a racist' chants recently
"Let me ask you this. Who goes over between Gunther and Goldberg? But I don't think he has anything to bolster his claim that he needs to go over. Him going over doesn't benefit WWE at all. Does it? If he loses that doesn't help him at all and if Goldberg loses, WWE gains, but what would they do then? I don't know. I bought a ticket to it now. I don't know which way it's going to go. The interest is there buddy." [From 58:51 onwards]

Dutch Mantell on Goldberg vs. Gunther being ideal for WWE WrestleMania
With a few big shows still left to go, nothing is seemingly set in stone for the WrestleMania 41 lineup.
The next edition of the mega show will take place in Las Vegas and it could end up being the biggest WrestleMania WWE has ever produced. An event of that magnitude requires marquee matches and Gunther, who has been built up as a top World Champion, will certainly have a prominent spot on the card.
Dutch Mantell felt that the proposed showdown between Goldberg and Gunther could happen in Vegas in April and personally would love to see the former WCW star take a few chops from The Ring General.
"So, I would like to see them go head to head and take a chop or two and get him all riled up because Vegas, they would be ready for that," he said. [1:00:29 - 1:00:42]
Goldberg has made a career out of pulling off upset victories over superstars he was expected to lose against and if he does return to wrestle Gunther, another surprising finish just can't be counted out.
