The Ring General Gunther is all set for a huge defense of the World Heavyweight Championship at Saturday Night's Main Event in just a week. After SmackDown went off the air, he crushed a beloved babyface after nearly losing to him.
Gunther is set to face Finn Balor at SNME in a week - which will be an immediate follow-up of his controversial win over Damian Priest at Survivor Series. Like SummerSlam a few months ago, the Ring General beat Damian Priest because of Finn Balor's interference. Only this time, the latter is making waves and attempting to capture the gold.
However, the SmackDown dark match saw another name try to capture gold - Otis. The beloved 32-year-old star went from RAW to SmackDown to wrestle Gunther and lost to the World Heavyweight Champion after the show went off the air.
In the video below, you can see how close he came to dethroning him:

The match, of course, was meant to be fun, which is why Otis was there in the first place. Although he was Mr. Money in the Bank only four years ago, it's hard to believe he was anywhere near the World Championship picture.
This must have been fun for fans, who would then go on to see Bron Breakker in another epic defense of his Intercontinental Championship.
Breakker seems to be the World Champion's successor on RAW, but the fact that they're both on the same roster at the same time is certainly quite surreal.
