Gunther asked an interesting question ahead of this week's episode of WWE RAW on Netflix. The promotion is currently building toward this year's Royal Rumble event on February 1, 2025.
The Ring General captured the World Heavyweight Championship from Damian Priest at SummerSlam 2024 and has held the title for 161 days so far. Ahead of tomorrow's edition of the red brand, the champion took to his Instagram to ask an interesting question. The Imperium leader wondered who the company had planned as his next challenger, and you can check out his message below.
"Who will be my challenger on Netflix?" he wrote.
Finn Balor and Damian Priest used to be stablemates in The Judgment Day. Balor betrayed The Archer of Infamy at SummerSlam, costing him the World Heavyweight Championship.
The champion successfully defended the title against Finn Balor and Damian Priest in a Triple Threat match last month at Saturday Night's Main Event. Priest and Balor are scheduled to battle in a Street Fight on tomorrow night's edition of WWE RAW.
John Cena Sr. wants his son to battle Gunther at WWE WrestleMania
John Cena Sr. recently disclosed that he was hoping to see his son square off against Gunther at WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Cena announced that he would be competing in this year's Men's Royal Rumble match during this past Monday's episode of RAW on Netflix. During a recent episode of Live Q&A on Backstage Pass, Bill Apter revealed that Cena Sr. informed him that he would rather see his son square off against the World Heavyweight Champion than battle Cody Rhodes.
"I asked him if he had a choice of his son choosing either Gunther or Cody [Rhodes]. He said he thinks Gunther would be the match because he's got that Greco-Roman classy style, and John's style with his style would complement each other very, very much," Apter said. [From 07:04 onwards]
Wrestling legend Goldberg confronted the 37-year-old last year at WWE Bad Blood and jumped over the barricade at the premium live event. However, security was able to get in between the two stars and prevented a brawl from breaking out. It will be fascinating to see who the company has planned as the World Heavyweight Champion's next opponent.
