Gunther recently missed a media interaction to promote WrestleMania 41. He revealed the real reason for this on WWE SmackDown tonight.
Once he arrived on the main roster, it didn't take Gunther long to establish himself as a top star. He won the Intercontinental Championship and embarked on a record-breaking reign as champion. After losing the title, he went on to win the King of the Ring tournament and eventually won the World Heavyweight Championship at WWE SummerSlam.
The Ring General will now face Cody Rhodes at Crown Jewel 2024 to decide who will be the first-ever Crown Jewel Champion. Last week on SmackDown, The American Nightmare extended an invitation to The Ring General to show up on the blue brand tonight which he accepted.
As both Gunther and Cody were in the middle of their conversation, The American Nightmare asked The Ring General where he was during the media rounds the previius day. Cody said that he was doing media rounds for WrestleMania 41 but Gunther couldn't be bothered to get up out of his bed.
The Ring General said he gets such requests all the time as champion, but has the guts to say no to his boss, to media requests, and especially to the fans.
It looks like The Ring General has his priorities straight when it comes to making media rounds.
