WWE Superstar Gunther has retained his World Heavyweight Championship at Saturday Night's Main Event. The Ring General faced Finn Balor and Damian Priest in a Triple Threat match.

After weeks of feuding with Damian Priest and Finn Balor, Gunther went in a match against the two former teammates for the World Heavyweight Championship. Going into the match, the Imperium leader wanted to clear it once and for all that he did not need someone's interference to win.

All three men started the match strong and for the most part, it was an even bout. However, during the last stages of the match, it looked like a new champion would be crowned as Priest and Balor traded near falls until The Ring General came back into the mix and dropped Damian Priest on the steel steps with a vicious powerbomb.

The Imperium leader then went after The Judgment Day star, hitting Balor's Shotgun Dropkick into the turnbuckle. After hitting another powerbomb, Gunther ultimately retained the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

There are some incredible matches still to go on the Saturday Night's Main Event card, including Cody Rhodes vs. Kevin Owens for the Undisputed WWE Championship. It will be interesting to see what the company has planned for The American Nightmare on the show.
