Fans are impressed with a superstar's career so far

Wrestling fans are thrilled with a WWE Superstar's first five years with the promotion.

Gunther, formerly known as Walter, debuted with the promotion five years ago today. He confronted WWE United Kingdom Champion Butch, known as Pete Dunne at the time, and made his in-ring debut against Jack Starz on the January 30, 2019 edition of NXT UK.

Since arriving on the main roster, the WWE RAW star has been dominant. He captured the Intercontinental Championship from Ricochet in June 2022 and hasn't looked back since. The 36-year-old made it to the final two of last year's Men's Royal Rumble Match but was eliminated by Cody Rhodes.

A wrestling fan account, WrestleOps, pointed out on X that today was the 5th anniversary of Gunther's debut. The account shared several images from the champion's career as can be seen in the post below.

Fans reacted to the post and almost all of them unanimously praised The Ring General as a superstar. Some fans claimed that the Intercontinental Champion is just getting started on the main roster and a fan also claimed that he is already an all-time great signing for the promotion.

WWE RAW star Gunther on a potential match against Roman Reigns

Intercontinental Champion Gunther was recently asked about a potential dream match against Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns.

The leader of Imperium spoke with Sportskeeda Wrestling in an exclusive interview last year and was asked about possibly facing The Tribal Chief down the line. The RAW star noted that they are very far apart from each other at the moment, but it would be a great opportunity to face Reigns in the future.

"What he's doing, what I'm doing, we are very apart from each other. He's doing his thing, I'm doing my thing. But if we cross paths in [the] future, we'll go for that. It'll be a great opportunity," said Gunther. [1:36 - 1:54]
