WWE Saturday Night's Main Event ended on a devastating note for Cody Rhodes as he was taken out by Kevin Owens after their match. Wrestling veteran Dutch Mantell shared his thoughts on the segment, noting that the Package Piledriver from KO was very convincing.
Over the past several months, Owens has been at odds with the American Nightmare. The duo collided for the Undisputed WWE Championship at Saturday Night's Main Event. While Cody Rhodes was able to retain the title, his victory celebration was short-lived as KO attacked him after the match and took him out with a Package Piledriver, leading to the champion being stretchered out of the arena.
Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Smack Talk, Dutch Mantell noted that Kevin Owens delivered the move perfectly, making it convincing for the audience:
"I am watching that… Package Piledriver. My god! You can take the tape and speed it up or slow it down, you can even look at it increment by increment and it looks like he killed him. That’s why the people bought into it. There was actually no room between the top of the head and the mat. It looked like he ripped him in two which is how you get people to believe. It was a very very… that’s probably the best move I have seen in the last couple of years." [25:12 onwards]
Kevin Owens has been walking around with the Winged Eagle WWE Championship since Saturday Night's Main Event. He is even going to defend it at the company's upcoming live events. Cody Rhodes, meanwhile, is still sidelined due to injury.
