Trick Williams has been feuding with Ridge Holland ever since NXT Halloween Havoc. Ridge even got a pinfall win over the Trick at NXT 2300 which shocked everyone. Holland then became the number one contender for the NXT Championship when he defeated Andre Chase on the November 19 episode of the black and silver brand.
This would be Trick Williams' toughest challenge since he won the title. Last week on NXT, both men came face-to-face in the ring. After a heated confrontation, the NXT Champion attacked Ridge, but it backfired as the challenger was able to hit his finisher on the announcer's table. Trick was hurt and had to be stretchered off to a medical facility along with Ava. This put the NXT Championship match in jeopardy.

If ever given a chance to change a storyline, Sunil would have booked Roman Reigns to end The Undertaker’s WrestleMania streak instead of Brock Lesnar. According to him, The Tribal Chief needed the victory more than Brock Lesnar, as the latter was already an established performer when he defeated ‘Taker. He would’ve also made that as Taker’s final match.
