Heartbreaking AJ Styles news during WWE SmackDown amidst injury

For fans of AJ Styles, there appears to be heartbreaking news from the beloved WWE star. The former world champion, who is currently out with an injury, has shared an update about his condition on social media.

The WWE star posted earlier tonight, sharing a picture of a cold plunge, and then a picture of himself in the cold plunge, clearly showing that he's trying to recover at the moment. The star returned after a long break from TV in October, where he faced Carmelo Hayes in a match. Unfortunately, he was immediately injured and was ruled out for the rest of the year. It was revealed that he had suffered a Lisfranc injury.

Now, a fan sent AJ Styles a message, asking him how his healing was going and if there were any updates about him returning to the ring again. The star had a heartbreaking answer.

He said that he would be honest, the injury had been really challenging for him. This message was sent while SmackDown was ongoing.

Given the star's response of it being a challenging injury, it seems that he's no closer to returning yet. With that being said, a Royal Rumble return for him may be ruled out, but it remains to be seen.
