"Here's to new beginnings" -  Adam Pearce welcomes former world champion as the new General Manager of SmackDown

WWE has appointed a new general manager for SmackDown
WWE SmackDown was live from BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma this week.

Adam Pearce has taken to social media to welcome Nick Aldis after he was appointed as the new General Manager of WWE SmackDown.

The two wrestling veterans have something in common, as they are both former NWA World Heavyweight Champions. On the blue brand this week, Triple H returned to the show and announced that Pearce will be the new General Manager of Monday Night RAW while Aldis will serve as the new General Manager of SmackDown.

In a recent Twitter thread, Adam Pearce stated that it was an honor for him to have received an opportunity to run SmackDown, and he is proud to hand over the reign to Nick Aldis. He included a photo of himself and the former IMPACT World Champion shaking hands backstage on RAW and concluded by saying that he would see him at the next WWE Draft.

"For the last ~4 years I’ve been honored to lead the governance of #SmackDown. Without question, it’s one of the great blessings in my professional life. But for everything, there is a season… With great yet bittersweet pride, I now turn her reins over to @RealNickAldis. I know that Nick will treat this shared legacy with the same respect he’s given to our past shared honors, and I’m excited to see what path he sets the blue brand on going forward. As for me, 100% of my passion now goes to the flagship, #WWERaw…Here’s to new beginnings, renewed passion for the tasks at hand, and to gratitude for all that have crossed my blue path for the last 4 trips around the sun. See ya at the #WWEDraft, Nick! It is official. - AP," Pearce shared.

Nick Aldis announced a major title match for next week's WWE SmackDown

During the show, Nick Aldis announced during a backstage segment with Charlotte Flair that she will take on IYO SKY for the WWE Women's Championship on the Blue brand next week. He felt that the Queen was robbed at Fastlane 2023.

During the show, Zelina Vega was attacked by Damage CTRL following her loss to Bayley. Charlotte Flair came out to make the save. If she dethrones IYO next week, she will become a 15-time World Champion. It will be interesting to see who will walk out with the championship on Friday Night SmackDown next week.
