AJ Styles is set to feature in an "I Quit" Match at the upcoming Clash at the Castle Premium Live Event. In the lead-up to the show, The Phenomenal One was asked about the possibility of returning to TNA as part of the WWE crossover.
Superstars from TNA featured at the NXT Battleground show with Knockouts Champion, Jordynne Grace, unsuccessfully challenging Roxanne Perez for the NXT Women's Championship.
Speaking with Cultaholic in a recent interview, Styles was asked about the WWE-TNA partnership. The Phenomenal One first broke out in TNA and held numerous championships in the promotion, including the TNA World Heavyweight Championship.
“I would say that hopefully something like that happens. It’s good for not only talent in WWE to go to TNA, TNA to come to WWE, it’s better for the younger talent to get into the ring with some people who have different styles. It’s very important that we are well rounded and you can’t do that all in NXT. So the fact that we’re going to be able to do that somewhere else is great,” said Styles.

Teddy Long discussed AJ Styles' retirement angle
AJ Styles recently swerved the WWE Universe by making them believe he was set to retire from professional wrestling. However, the former WWE Champion did so to earn another shot at Cody Rhodes' Undisputed WWE Championship.
Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's The Wrestling Time Machine, Long explained why he hated the term "fake". He said:
"Let's not use the word fake, I hate that... Whatever they do, it's all a work from beginning to end. Now sometimes things get real, you know, but that just happens, you know what I mean? But everything is basically a work. So what AJ did, that was absolutely fantastic. I liked it and it fooled everybody. That's the main thing. You know that thing got over and it fooled people."
AJ Styles will face Cody Rhodes in a rematch from Backlash France when the former failed to dethrone The American Nightmare.
