Vince McMahon and Triple H gave a standing ovation to Hornswoggle after his TLC match with El Torito at WWE Extreme Rules 2014.
Hornswoggle was one of the most hilarious acts on WWE TV during his stint with the company. One of his biggest accomplishments in the promotion came at Extreme Rules 2014. The pre-show of the event saw Hornswoggle taking on El Torito in a WeeLC match. The 11-minute bout received a positive reaction from the WWE Universe.
Hornswoggle recently had a chat with Steve Fall of Ten Count. While speaking about the WeeLC match, he stated that the bout surpassed the night's main event in terms of match quality.
"It was supposed to be presented, I believe, as a joke and a comedy thing, but we had the best match on the card that night including Evolution vs. The Shield. We killed it and I know we did, and I'm going to tell everyone we did. That might not have been a good move on my end, but I didn't care at that point."

He then revealed that Vince McMahon, Triple H, and others gave him a standing ovation in Gorilla after the match:
"It was the greatest thing I'll ever do in my career. That was the first time I ever got a standing ovation in Gorilla, including Vince and Triple H, so that was a pretty cool thing. That's all I needed." (H/T WrestlingInc)
Vince McMahon was once involved in an infamous angle with Hornswoggle
In 2007, Vince McMahon kicked off a storyline with Hornswoggle, with the latter being revealed as McMahon's illegitimate long-lost child. McMahon went on to target Hornswoggle on WWE TV for weeks on end, in a display of "tough love." During McMahon's short-lived feud with Hornswoggle, the then-WWE Chairman once lost a No DQ match to the former Cruiserweight Champion on an episode of RAW.
In early 2008, JBL revealed that Hornswoggle was Finlay's son, not Vince's. This led to a Belfast Brawl between Finlay and JBL at WrestleMania 24 that the former WWE Champion won.
