WWE has reportedly discussed introducing a new belt ahead of a huge match on RAW's debut on Netflix. An analyst in Stamford-based company addressed the rumor, claiming only two reasons could lead the company to take that step.
The Bloodline is currently split into two groups, led by Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa. The two leaders will square off in Tribal Combat on January 6 on the premiere of the red brand on Netflix. While the OTC and his former Enforcer have been fighting over the Ula Fala, JoeyVotes and TC of WrestleVotes recently reported exclusively on Backstage Pass that the company has discussed introducing a Tribal Chief Championship that could be given to the winner of the Tribal Combat. Speaking on his Notsam Wrestling podcast, analyst Sam Roberts pointed out that he only sees two reasons for that.
The 41-year-old stated that if the company introduced a new Tribal Chief Championship, it would probably be to sell some replica titles and potentially set up a title vs. title match between the winner of The Tribal Combat and The People's Champion The Rock:
"Number one, maybe they wanna sell some replica titles. And number two, maybe whoever's holding that title is gonna go title for title with the People's Championship title that The Rock holds," he said. [From 09:43 to 09:54]
Will The Rock return on WWE RAW to interfere in the Tribal Combat?
The Rock was last seen at Bad Blood when he surprisingly returned to make a cut-throat gesture to Roman Reigns, Jimmy Uso, and the Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes.
On a previous episode of his Notsam Wrestling podcast, Sam Roberts wondered if The Final Boss would return on the premiere episode of WWE RAW on Netflix to cost the OTC his match against Sikoa:
"What if The Rock interferes in that match? What if that's where The Rock comes out on Netflix? We haven't seen The Rock. What if that's where The Rock comes out and we see which Bloodline The Rock is in agreement with, if any by the way, and The Rock costs Roman Reigns that Ula Fala? Or maybe Roman wins the Ula Fala and The Rock and Roman Reigns have a showdown," he said.
WWE recently introduced two new titles: the Women's United States and Intercontinental Championships. It would be interesting to see if the company also presented a new Tribal Chief Championship on the January 6 episode of RAW.
