Cody Rhodes defeated Roman Reigns at WrestleMania XL to win the Undisputed WWE Championship. In an exclusive interview, Hulk Hogan offered his thoughts on The American Nightmare finally capturing WWE's top prize.

Hogan was WWE's star attraction in the 1980s and early 1990s. The 70-year-old headlined eight of the first nine WrestleMania events to cement his status as the biggest draw in the wrestling industry.

Speaking to Sportskeeda Wrestling Senior Editor Bill Apter, Hogan tipped Rhodes to remain at the top as the Undisputed WWE Champion for the foreseeable future:

"I think Cody has worked real, real hard to niche out for himself. I think he deserves to be exactly where he's at. He's cool, calm, and collected, very methodical, and I think he's got some serious, serious longevity. I love his work. I love his work. He's doing a really great job up there, and I've seen some really good stuff with him and Seth [Rollins], some really believable stuff, and it looks like he's on to greatness." [4:23 – 4:55]

Hulk Hogan on a mistake WWE must avoid with Cody Rhodes

At the height of his babyface run, Hulk Hogan held the WWE Championship for 1,474 days between 1984 and 1988.

While some modern-day title reigns end within a few months, The Hulkster believes Cody Rhodes would benefit from holding the gold for a long time:

"I think he could really raise the bar for the whole WWE, but it's a situation where I really think they need to stick with him for a while, not just flip-flop the belt," Hogan continued. "If they can stick with him and make him the gold standard, I think he could raise the bar for all those guys up there." [4:55 – 5:11]

Rhodes is currently feuding with The Bloodline's Jacob Fatu, Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, and Tonga Loa. The SmackDown star will team up with Kevin Owens and Randy Orton to face the villainous faction at Money in the Bank on July 6.
