WWE Hall of Famer and professional wrestling veteran Hulk Hogan was referenced during the 2024 Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The Hulkster was mentioned on commentary during the fourth Test match between India and Australia.

Hogan is regarded as one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time. He is a six-time WWF/WWE Champion and a two-time WWE Hall of Famer. In 2005, The Hulkster was inducted for his work as a singles wrestler. Meanwhile, he was given the prestigious honor again in 2020 as a New World Order member.

During the first innings of the fourth Test between India and Australia, commentator Damien Fleming praised debutant Sam Konstas. The 19-year-old scored a quickfire 60 from 65 deliveries, and his performance drew comparisons to The Hulkster.

Vince Russo discussed Hulk Hogan's absence from Saturday Night's Main Event

Several professional wrestling legends, including Jesse Ventura and Tito Santana, were in attendance at Saturday Night's Main Event 2024. Ventura was on commentary during the show's main event between Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens.

Despite featuring at several editions of Saturday Night's Main Event during his active career, Hulk Hogan was absent from this year's show. The legend's absence was briefly discussed by Vince Russo, who was shocked to see the multi-time WWE Champion miss the TV special.

On Russo's The Brand, the former head writer said:

"I was very, very surpirsed by that. If you're gonna bring out Jesse Ventura at the top of the show, I'm thinking you're gonna bring out Hulk Hogan before the main event. But there was no Hulk sighting tonight."

Hogan made sure he attended the UFC Tampa show, having missed Saturday Night's Main Event. He walked out with former interim UFC Welterweight Champion Colby Covington for his main event against Joaquin Buckley.

Unfortunately for Covington and his camp, the 36-year-old failed to win his first fight in a year. He lost the fight via technical knockout after the doctor called off the bout due to a gruesome cut over Covington's eye.
