Hulk Hogan cemented his status as one of the world's most popular wrestlers during his babyface Hulkamania run in WWE in the 1980s. In an exclusive interview, the two-time Hall of Famer opened up about fans still showing him support to this day.

The Hulkster's fans can buy his WCW and WWE merchandise from beach shops in Clearwater and Orlando, Florida. Items are also available online via Hulk Hogan's Wrestling Shop.

Speaking to Sportskeeda Wrestling's Senior Editor, Bill Apter, Hogan shed light on the reason for wanting to open the stores. He said that with the unpredictability of the pro wrestling business, he wanted to have a place where he could sell his Hulkamania merchandise, as it was still in great demand among fans.

"Basically, it's something that I wanted to do because with me bouncing around between the WCW and the WWE, never knowing where you're gonna end up in this wrestling business, I wanted to have something solid that I could sell my Hulkamania stuff because the people still want it," stated Hogan. Hogan also explained how WWE was extremely cooperative and partnered with him, allowing him to sell nWO and other wrestlers' merchandise at his beach shops.

"It's really great because the WWE's been very, very cooperative, and they've been a great partner because I get the nWo stuff in there and I've got a lot of the John Cena stuff. All the different WWE Superstars, I sell a lot of their stuff in there," added Hogan. [5:47 – 6:04]

Hulk Hogan on how fans react to his beach shops

Between 1977 and 2012, Hulk Hogan competed in more than 2,000 matches. Although he mostly wrestled in the United States, he also performed in Japan, the United Kingdom, and dozens of other countries during overseas tours.

Hogan was grateful that several fans shared fond memories from his career when they interacted with him inside the stores. He added that talking about the past days with the fans makes him feel young again.

"It just keeps the dream alive. It's just fun to see wrestling fans come in, 'Oh, I saw you at Market Square Arena, Indianapolis,' or, 'I was on Long Island. I used to come to the Nassau Coliseum 40 years ago. Gosh, I'm looking around at your pictures and T-shirts. I feel like a kid again.' It's so nice to have people walk in and feel that way," he said.
