This week’s episode of WWE NXT saw a 29-year-old superstar make a heartbreaking confession backstage. The former champion and his faction are currently on the losing end of a feud, and instead of fighting, he is getting cold feet. The man in question is Tony D’Angelo, who surprised everyone with an unexpected confession about Oba Femi.

The NXT North American Champion is on a dominant reign right now. He got into a feud with The Family when he disrespected Adriana Rizzo a few weeks ago. Notably, Femi had already defeated Tony D’Angelo at No Mercy and later shut down Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo’s attempt to get back at him for talking down to Rizzo.

This week, The Don was seen speaking to The Family backstage, with the faction supporting him in facing the WWE champion. However, the former NXT Heritage Cup Champion said he won’t be able to do that. Concerned, The Family asked if he was injured. The constant pressure made Tony D blurt out that he feared Oba Femi.

"I'm afraid! That's the truth! I'm afraid, damn it! I'm supposed to be The Don of NXT. I'm supposed to lead the family. Afraid of no one. Afraid of nothing. Never back down from a fight, I can't handle. But it's different with this guy. He's a machine. He's a destroyer. He's not human. And I can't beat him! There it is. I said it," said D'Angelo. This was very unlikely of The Don of WWE NXT, who always looked forward to winning a big fight. Later in the show, Adriana Rizzo once again spoke to Tony D and told him it was okay to be afraid.

She noted that fighting through fear is the most important thing, and a win or loss won’t matter if he gives it his best shot. Following this, it would be interesting to see if The Don can overcome the 310-pound WWE champion.
