39-year-old WWE star reacts to John Cena's retirement news
Former United States Champion Baron Corbin recently opened up about The Cenation Leader saying goodbye to wrestling next year.
John Cena has faced The Lone Wolf three times in WWE and has been unbeaten in all those matches. The 39-year-old even asked the Stamford-based promotion to book one more match between the duo at Bad Blood or Elimination Chamber 2025.
During the same conversation with US Magazine, Baron Corbin called the Hollywood star his mentor and thanked the latter for motivating him whenever he was frustrated.
"We live 10 minutes from each other. I work out at his gym. I would see him [John Cena] on a weekly basis before he was doing all the Hollywood stuff. When I would get frustrated, he became a mentor, in a sense. He would say, ‘Let’s go to dinner. Let’s eat steak and burnt Brussels sprouts, have some wine, and we’ll talk through this and figure it out,"' he said.
It will be interesting to see how John Cena fares during his Retirement Tour next year.
