Roman Reigns established his dominance as the WWE Universal Champion as he demolished numerous opponents. One such victim was Goldberg, who suffered a defeat at the hands of The Big Dog. The WWE Hall of Famer has now shared his thoughts on his final match in the Stamford-based promotion.
At the Elimination Chamber Premium Live Event in 2022, Reigns defended his then-Universal Championship against the 57-year-old legend in Saudi Arabia. The match ended abruptly when The Bloodline member nailed a Guillotine choke on Bill Goldberg, forcing a referee's decision in his favor.
This title match marked Goldberg's last in-ring appearance in World Wrestling Entertainment, as his contract expired at the end of 2022 and the company didn't negotiate a new deal.
During an appearance on INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet, the 57-year-old expressed dissatisfaction with his final match against Roman Reigns. Goldberg claimed he did a favor for the former Tribal Chief by competing despite contracting COVID-19 three weeks before the PLE.
A top AEW star just called one of his colleagues 'spoiled' and 'narcissistic' HERE.
"No, it s**ks. I had f**king COVID three weeks before I was asked to do it. It was horrible. No, it was a favor. You know, it was my job. I'm not gonna say no; I've never said no, really. And I was asked to wrestle twice a year. They [WWE] were caught between a rock and a hard place, and I was their answer. I feel like I did him [Roman Reigns] a favor, and that's why I thought that the favor would be reciprocated. But it is what it is," he said. [H/T: CVV]
The former WCW World Champion admitted it was his fault to accept a match following Vince McMahon's request.
"I'll never forget the phone call I got when I was in bed. I couldn't even breathe, and I felt like a**. I couldn't even get up. [Vince says], 'You can make Saudi in three weeks?' 'Sure, I'll be there! You promise me a match after that.' [Vince said], 'Sure!' I should have done better. That's my fault," he added. [H/T: CVV]

Roman Reigns makes a bold claim about Paul Heyman's WWE legacy
Paul Heyman and The Big Dog formed a formidable alliance when the latter turned heel in 2020. Serving as Roman Reigns' Wiseman and Special Counsel, the duo showcased an electrifying on-screen chemistry.
In a recent A&E Biography: WWE Legends, Goldberg gave a heartfelt statement about Paul Heyman's children.
"People think, 'Man, this wrestling guy [is the] best mouthpiece in the game.' But I think if you really want to tap into Paul's legacy, you have to meet Azalea and Jacob. One of the most impressive things about Paul is his relationship with his children. I think that's his true legacy," he said.
Meanwhile, it will be interesting to see if Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman return to WWE TV at SummerSlam this weekend.
