Lacey Evans, aka Macey Estrella, was quietly released from WWE before the mass releases that took place after the two companies merged over the past few weeks. Today, she fired back at Hall of Famer Sgt. Slaughter and his daughter for calling her out on social media.
Earlier this year, Lacey Evans was prepping to make a run on Friday Night SmackDown under a new gimmick that resembled a lot of WWE Hall of Famer Sgt. Slaughter during his prime. However, she received backlash from the veteran and his daughter on social media.
Evans kept all the criticism aside and worked her part until she was released from the promotion. Speaking on Road Trip AFTER HOURS with Teddy Long and Mac Davis, the former WWE Superstar took a shot at the Hall of Famer and her daughter for calling her out. Check it out:
"What bothered me I think was the fact that they did take it so legitimate on social media... Even old man Slaughter, you know, I hope his hips still work and I hope his daughter is still there cause where I come from and the woman that I am, you better stand firm in what you said, and same thing backstage at WWE, I stand in who I am and what I believe in." Evans went on to explain how she worked for the company and agreed to the storylines that she's been a part of during her time with the promotion.
Lacey Evans once worked with WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair and Charlotte Flair
In 2021, WWE planned a unique storyline for Charlotte Flair on Monday Night RAW. The Queen feuded with Lacey Evans on the brand after Ric Flair appeared for the company to manage The Sassy Southern Bell.
The two superstars outsmarted Charlotte Flair on numerous occasions, and the story was building to receive a massive payoff at The Grandest Stage of Them All, where Flair was supposed to win the RAW Women's Championship.
According to several reports, Lacey Evans was supposed to enter the event as RAW Women's Champion after she defeated Asuka at Elimination Chamber 2021. Luckily, the storyline was scrapped.
Lacey Evans went on maternal leave, and the management dropped the storyline and wrote both Flairs off. Instead, Rhea Ripley defeated Asuka at WrestleMania 37 to win her first title on the main roster.
