A lot of things changed in WWE during Rhea Ripley’s absence from the ring due to an injury. Mami recently opened up about an announcement that came as a big surprise to her.
Rhea has become a top name in sports entertainment over the years. She has held the Women’s World Championship previously and is neck-deep in a rivalry with Liv Morgan and the new-look Judgment Day on Monday Night RAW at the moment.
During her absence from the ring, Ripley was one of the three WWE Superstars who collaborated with Call of Duty: Warzone and Modern Warfare III. The other two superstars are Cody Rhodes and Rey Mysterio.
In a recent interview with Jose Gonzalez of PWMania, Mami spoke about how the partnership came to fruition and how the collaboration was a surprise to her at first.
Corey Graves deleted his Tweet! More details HERE.
"Honestly, I don’t know how it came to be. Work, they pretty much messaged me and they’re like, 'Yeah, we want you to go do scans for this game.' Didn’t really tell me too much about it and I was like, 'All right. Say less.' So, I went and did it. And then, next minute, when I’m injured, I’m doing voiceovers for it. And I mean, it came out amazingly. But, it was not only a surprise to everyone, but it was sort of like a surprise for me too. I don’t know if I just wasn’t listening to what it was actually for or if they told me properly. But, it’s cool. And I’m down for it," Rhea Ripley said.
Ripley added that she was pleased with the way the video game turned out. It is a huge milestone for the 27-year-old star who has achieved a lot since her humble beginnings in NXT.
Former WWE writer thinks Rhea Ripley will reclaim her title soon
The Judgment Day has undergone a major change at SummerSlam 2024 and a former WWE writer believes that all this will benefit Rhea Ripley. While speaking on the Wrestling with Freddie podcast, former writer Freddie Prinze Jr. pointed out that Mami will come out on top in her rivalry with Liv Morgan.
Freddie added that Rhea will win the Women's World Championship either at Bad Blood or at Survivor Series: WarGames 2024. The win will ensure that she becomes the top babyface champion in the Stamford-based company.
"We all know where this story is going. The Judgment Day is falling apart. It has crumbled. It's no more. Rhea Ripley is going to reclaim her championship either at Bad Blood or Survivor Series and it's gonna take Liv everything she can do to stop her. She's gonna try using Dom and everything else in her power and she's not gonna be able to. And Rhea Ripley without The Judgment Day, without anyone, all by herself, standing on her own, is gonna be one of the biggest babyface champions ever when she takes this title," Freddie Prinze Jr. said.
It is only a matter of time before the new-look Judgment Day starts falling apart. Damian Priest and Mami will work together to ensure that they get revenge on their former stablemates.
