Legendary wrestling manager Jim Cornette has shared that he is not a fan of Jey Uso's gimmick or in-ring work. He doesn't like anything about the WWE star.
The Yeet Master defeated Bron Breakker in the main event of RAW this past Monday to become the new Intercontinental Champion. He received a huge pop from the crowd when the referee counted to three. He is one of the biggest babyfaces in the entire industry right now, and many people felt that he deserved to win the title.
Jim Cornette reviewed the match on the latest episode of the Drive-Thru, and he didn't think the title change was a good idea. The WWE veteran declared Jey Uso's character as his least favorite top star gimmick in all of wrestling.
"I've got a lot of least favorites in AEW but I'm now officially declaring Jey Uso is my least favorite top guy gimmick in wrestling. It's all over but I hate it. I hate 'Yeet.' I hate that Ringling Brothers outfit he's wearing with 'Yeet' on his arms and flower petals on his legs and fluorescent blue all over. I hate his work which has gone to hell because of his hot doggery, which is not only over the top but also it seems to me to be hard to work with because the timing of his hot doggery is just a step behind the beat. I don't like any of this," said Cornette. [0:30-1:32]
The Intercontinental Title is Jey Uso's first singles championship in his 14-year WWE career
The Yeet Master has been a part of the wrestling juggernaut for a very long time, and after so many years, he finally won a singles title. He was involved in a tag team with Jimmy Uso for the majority of his run in the company.
After the two stars broke up, Jey Uso moved to RAW and found success on the red brand as a singles competitor. He had a tag title run with Cody Rhodes and is the new Intercontinental Champion. This is undoubtedly a huge accomplishment for him.
