WWE Superstar CM Punk has weighed in on the possibility of his wife, AJ Lee, making a return to the Stamford-based promotion. Fans have been speculating about the comeback of the former Divas Champion ever since Roxanne Perez mentioned Lee during a recent interview.
Lee left the Sports Entertainment juggernaut in 2015 after she ''felt caught in the middle'' between the company and her husband CM Punk following The Best in The World's controversial departure in 2014. The former WWE Divas Champion then explored new paths, as she wrote comic books and even shared her life story in a book.
The 37-year-old returned to the industry in 2021 as she joined Women of Wrestling (WOW) as an executive producer. She departed the company last year. Since The Straight Edge Superstar's return to WWE at Survivor Series 2023, the wrestling world has been clamoring for the comeback of the 37-year-old female star.
Reigning NXT Women's Champion Roxanne Perez recently told Pro Wrestling Illustrated that she has been trying to persuade CM Punk to convince AJ Lee to return to the ring. Adding fuel to the fire, during an interview with Ringside Collectibles, The Second City Saint spoke about the possibility of his wife returning to the squared circle.
Former WWE writer buries Judgment Day HERE
While Punk clarified that he would not push AJ Lee ''to do anything,'' The Best in The World jokingly said that he would love to make out with his wife on television again. Notably, the real-life couple made out a few times on WWE TV during a romantic angle in 2012.
"I certainly am not pushing her [AJ Lee] to do anything. I think she knows that there's options. I think she sees how happy I am and how things are different. But if the right situation presented itself, it would have to be a discussion between her and certain people, and I don’t necessarily want to be in the middle of that just because it could get kind of weird. Selfishly, yes, I would love to make out with my wife on television again," CM Punk said. [9:30-10:04]

CM Punk is medically cleared and set for a massive match at WWE SummerSlam
The Best in The World participated in the 2024 Men's Royal Rumble Match earlier this year. However, during the multi-man contest, Punk tore his right triceps, and the star has been out of in-ring action since then.
Even though the former WWE Champion has been on the sidelines, he has been involved in a heated rivalry with Drew McIntyre on RAW. Last Monday, Punk declared that he had been medically cleared to compete. The Second City Saint called out The Scottish Warrior for a fight.
Before a brawl could erupt between the two men, General Manager Adam Pearce stepped in to announce that the fierce rivals would lock horns at SummerSlam, with Seth "Freakin" Rollins serving as the Special Guest Referee.
The SummerSlam encounter with Drew McIntyre will be CM Punk's first singles match inside a WWE ring since 2014. It will be interesting to see how the saga plays out at The Biggest Party of The Summer.
