Drew McIntyre showed up on SmackDown tonight. He warned a current WWE champion against committing a big mistake.

Cody Rhodes has been embroiled in a heated rivalry against Kevin Owens ever since WWE Bad Blood. These two men locked horns at Saturday Night's Main Event. Following the show, Owens brutally assaulted Rhodes and walked away with the winged-eagle WWE Championship. These two rivals will face each other again at the Royal Rumble, this time in a ladder match.

Tonight on SmackDown, Cody Rhodes kicked off the show by addressing the crowd. However, he was soon interrupted by Drew McIntyre who came out and surprisingly hugged The American Nightmare. The Scottish Psychopath said that he was not there to hurt him but to help him. He told Cody that he was about to screw up his entire life's work by facing Owens. He also highlighted the hard work that Cody put in to get to this point in his career.

Drew McIntyre also mentioned that Kevin Owens is walking around like he is the WWE Champion while The American Nightmare's neck was hanging by a thread. He said that Cody Rhodes needs someone to watch his back. Cody was not buying what Drew said and offered him an Undispued WWE Championship match instead. The Scottish star again reiterated that he was not there to hurt him but he asked him to watch his back.

It will be interesting to see if Cody Rhodes will be able to overcome Kevin Owens at the Royal Rumble.
