There are times when WWE Superstars transition into different characters and roles upon receiving their main roster call-ups. Recently, Jinder Mahal detailed original plans for him when he returned to Monday Night RAW alongside Indus Sher.

Last year, Indus Sher was drafted as a trio to Monday Night RAW under Triple H's regime. However, they were rarely used on WWE's main roster and eventually got released by the Stamford-based promotion after the two-night extravaganza in Philadelphia.

In a recent interview Chris Van Vliet of INSIGHT, the former World Champion stated the management originally wanted to limit him as a manager for Indus Sher. The star remained active behind the scenes and made several pitches, but they only wanted to use him as a manager before he returned to in-ring competition against Seth Rollins.

"Actually, while I was managing Indus Sher, when we got drafted to RAW, I was told that I'm no longer a wrestler. I'm just a manager. Yeah, because I was pitching. Well, the writer told me. I was pitching all kinds of storylines, like Six-Man Tags or matches for myself where Indus Sher is managing me and nothing was happening. I asked the writer, I said, 'What's the deal am I [wrestling]?' I also know this because I saw the roster sheet. Male heels, RAW, SmackDown male heels, tag teams, I wasn't listed under male heels. There was the male heel tag teams Indus Sher and I was in brackets. So as a manager role. So I wasn't even listed as active talent," Mahal said. [H/T: chrisvanvliet.com]

How did Jinder Mahal form a faction with Indus Sher in WWE?

A few years ago, Jinder Mahal formed an alliance with Shanky and Veer on WWE's main roster. The trio eventually went nowhere after a feud with Drew McIntyre. Later, Veer was separated from Mahal and Shanky.

Veer Mahaan was created on the main roster and Mahal teamed up with Shanky for a while. However, things took a drastic turn under the new regime with Triple H's creative leadership.

Veer was sent to the developmental brand under Shawn Michaels' creative leadership and Shanky was eventually released from the promotion in September 2023.

Meanwhile, in October 2022, Veer reformed Indus Sher with Sanga, who had spent a handful of years on the developmental brand. The duo became more powerful when Jinder Mahal returned to WWE NXT and aligned with them.

On the white and gold brand, the trio had an eventful run. The stable eventually moved to WWE's main roster and was released from the company in 2024.
