WWE is set to kick off next year with a bang when Monday Night RAW moves to Netflix. Meanwhile, former three-time World Champion and current SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis explained why he might not wrestle full-time.

Last year, Nick Aldis debuted for the Stamford-based promotion under Triple H's WWE regime and became the new SmackDown General Manager. The 38-year-old star has taken bumps in the ring but hasn't been inside the square circle for a match since joining the company.

In an interview with Chris Van Vliet, the former two-time NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion and TNA World Champion addressed the possibility of his in-ring return. The 38-year-old star explained he hasn't pushed the higher-ups for an in-ring return and might not wrestle full-time. Moreover, he said he's ready to compete whenever it's needed.

"I guess. But I also don't necessarily see it like that. 100% I see it more as a sort of maybe not a full-time wrestler, but I don't know. Look, it gets asked all the time by everyone except me. I have never once said, hey what about me? Could I wrestle? Because I don't need to. If and when the time comes it'll be what they want, and it will hopefully be the right time. I just told them that if you want to do that, I'm ready," Aldis said. [H/T - CVV]

Nick Aldis hasn't wrestled in WWE but took a finisher in the ring

After being appointed as the SmackDown General Manager by Triple H, Nick Aldis laid out strict rules for the superstars on the brand, including Roman Reigns and The Bloodline.

Unfortunately, the villainous faction's hands were tied, and they agreed to Aldis' rules on WWE SmackDown. However, Randy Orton wasn't ready to do the same and hit Nick Aldis with an RKO.

In December 2023, the war was on between Adam Pearce and Aldis to make Randy Orton exclusive to their brand. In the end, The Viper agreed to join WWE SmackDown as he had unfinished business with The Bloodline.

Sadly for Nick Aldis, it came with a price when The Apex Predator took out the faction and hit Aldis with an RKO to close the segment. The veteran was fined for his actions, and the newly appointed General Manager let the whole incident slide.
